Agent Experience Design
Every product now has a second kind of user — one that reads, navigates and acts without ever seeing what you designed.
Designing for those users is a discipline about two years old. There are patterns, but no consensus. Proposals, but few standards. Plenty of confident writing, and very little agreement underneath it.
Prenorm is not a reference or a standard. It is where this gets discussed, regularly and in the open, by someone willing to say how settled a thing actually is: one substantial article a week, a glossary that names what is still contested, and field tests where an agent walks a real product and reports what broke.

In a transformer, pre-norm describes where you place normalization relative to the residual path — a small structural decision with outsized consequences. Get it wrong and a deep model won't train at all. Read as plain English it means something else: before the norm. Both readings are the point. The conventions of this field aren't set yet, and the small structural decisions being made right now will decide whether the whole thing works.
